The Short Description of the DRM Monitoring Station
The DRM Monitoring Station is physically located at the Visegrád-street site (Budapest, Hungary) of the National Media and Infocommunications Authority, but the receive quality data and the audio file generated from the output signal of the radio are available online for everyone interested. The radio is tuned by software according to a monitoring plan pre-programmed by the system administrator. The menu Weekly Monitoring Plan provides information about the programs to be received in specific times on the individual days of the week. The full list of registered broadcasts is available at http://www.drm.org.
Since trial broadcasts have not begun yet in Hungary, the Weekly Monitoring Plan contains foreign stations which, based on our experience, are expected to provide sufficiently good receive quality. In spite of this dropouts may occur temporarily.
The developed system is suitable for monitoring the audio quality of the DRM transmissions, storing systematically the receive quality data of the signals in one-minute intervals, and for representing the stored data graphically. These data can be searched and downloaded in the menu “Archived Data”.
The physical realization of the system is shown in the figure below::
